Kilyos is the only part of the belt where you can walk to the Black Sea, and the sea changes everything: wind, humidity and a seasonal rhythm. In summer it has the liveliest social life in the belt; in winter it empties noticeably.

Sea air speeds up wear on façades, roofs and window frames. When assessing a house, look separately at the maintenance records, the cladding and the sides that face the wind; damp shows itself in winter in houses that stay closed.
